Suzanna DeCosta

De Costa writes for the gender and climate journalism beats in Pacific Environment Weekly and is an undergraduate student at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. She grew up on Sanibel, a small island in Florida, where she learned about local ecology and wildlife. Having grown up in
a community of conservationists, environmental activism and sustainability is her passion. She finds that writing meaningful pieces to make relevant climate news more accessible to people is
enormously gratifying.

Charlie Tañala

Charlie Tañala is an experienced financial journalist, technical communicator and learning advocate based in the Philippines. He currently serves as a senior technical editor at Google, writing conceptual overviews and procedures, as well as updating help center queries and FAQs.
He previously managed the Asia-Pacific news coverage for U.S.-based financial data giant S&P Global
His educational background in engineering and journalism has given him a broad base from which to approach many topics.

Justin Fa’afia

With over 15 years in Pacific Journalism, Fa’afia is the Digital Editor of Pacific Environment Weekly. Originally from Upolu, Samoa, he has travelled the world exploring the role of media in society.

Giulia Saravini Lazzarotti

Lazzarotti is a digital journalist and a gender-based violence operator living in London, UK, where she was awarded an MSc in Digital Journalism from
Goldsmiths. She studied communication sciences at the University of
Pisa in Tuscany, Italy. Her special areas of focus include human rights, with primary expertise on violence against women.

Eden Anbar

As a Digital Journalist Intern, Eden strives to increase visibility of how climate change is affecting the Pacific Islands. His interest lies in the human dimensions of the climate crisis. Eden’s goal is to tell stories of people, places, and problems in a way that gets citizens and decision makers to listen. He has developed a unique lens through interdisciplinary coursework, internship projects, and previous writing experience. Passionate about the environment and culture, he spends his free time enjoying outdoor spaces and meeting new people.
